The breakfasts are delicious with a side of good coffee to accompany the full English.

This guest house is extraordinary ! The whole thing, like the name, is slightly bonkers and totally manic but it works and you certainly won't forget it. The decor is very much to the taste of the owner and the rooms are delightfully quirky but extremely comfortable. The whole place appeared to be squeaky clean and the breakfast choice is amazing. It is all a labour of love by the owner and her daughter and it is great. What more can I say ?
If you are driving, it is almost impossible to find, particularly at night. If the instructions told you to drive down Clarence Parade and turn left in to Florence Road and then first left in to Malvern Road it would be easier ! Once in Malvern Road you would find it in the dark if you could see the sign for the guest house but you can't as it is situated at eaves level and there aren't any street lights. The owner said that they would put a sign on the gate pillars. It is street parking only and this could be a problem.

They should make it clear that the "free parking at the property" is street parking.

This place is luxurious, fairly clean, offers free Wi-Fi, and features a charming garden restaurant, so opt for the standard king room with a street view for a memorable stay.

The best part of our excellent stay was the delicious breakfast with good coffee to go with the full English, veggie options plus juice. Location: the hotel was near to Southsea's pubs, restaurants & seafront which were a short walk away and tourist attractions.

I would highly recommend this B&B. The owner Eilleen was really friendly as was her daughter they both made me feel very welcome. My room was excellent and the bed was the most comfortable that I have slept in. Tea in abundance if required. Vast range of choice for breakfast which was really very well cooked. I will be staying at Sea-La-Vie next time I am in Portsmouth on business as well as pleasure.

This Bed & Breakfast was very welcoming on arrival the owner was a warm, friendly and most helpful throughout our stay. The superior room was a delight to stay in, comfy king sized bed, beautiful white sheets and fluffy white towels. Lovely bathroom and shower with plenty of shampoo, shower jel etc. Nothing too much trouble when she says "if you want anything just ask" she really means it. Breakfast to die for from a full english to smoked salmon and anything in between. Plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, eggs any way, toast etc. Would recommend it highly.

The bedroom: antique furniture, very individual, comfortable, cozy atmosphere, The breakfast: incredible, individually prepared, just delicious The hostess: simply sweet, ever helpful, a never-ending source of information, we would have liked to spend more time with her The house: fits all positive stereotypes of a Victorian-style b&b (if I may say so) ... in walking distance to the waterfront, to the museums and docks, and to the beautiful city of Southsea with its interesting small stores
